Molecular Mass	The secreted recombinant human SLPI consists of 117 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 13.1 KDa. The apparent molecular mass of the protein is approximately 15 KDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions due to glycosylation.
Formulation	Lyophilized from sterile 20mM Tris, 500mM NaCl, 10% gly, pH 7.4. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose and mannitol are added as protectants before lyophilization. Specific concentrations are included in the hardcopy of COA. Please contact us for any concerns or special requirements.

Beschreibung von SLPI Protein

SLPI (Secretory leukocyte peptidase inhibitor), also known as Antileukoproteinase, is a prominent innate immune protein of the respiratory tract, possessing serine protease inhibitor activity, antibacterial activity, and anti-inflammatory / immunomodulatory activity. Elafin and SLPI are pleiotropic molecules chiefly synthesized at the mucosal surface that have a fundamental role in the surveillance against microbial infections. SLPI is produced by the epithelial cells lining the respiratory, digestive, and reproductive tracts. SLPI is a low molecular weight serine protease inhibitor found on various mucosal surfaces and has been ascribed an important role in maintaining the protease-anti-protease balance of the airways. Recent scientific evidence has suggested that SLPI may also have a broad spectrum antibiotic activity that includes antiretroviral, bactericidal, and antifungal activity.
