Molecular Mass	The recombinant human IL20 consists of 153 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 17.7 KDa. It migrates as an approximately 18 KDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
Formulation	Lyophilized from a 0.2μm filtered solution of PBS pH 7.4. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose and mannitol are added as protectants before lyophilization. Specific concentrations are included in the hardcopy of COA.

Beschreibung von IL20 / Interleukin-20 Protein

Interleukin-20 is a member of the IL-10 family. It is a cytokine structurally related to interleukin 10. Cytokines are secreted by numerous cells and are a category of signaling molecules used extensively in intercellular communication. Interleukin-20 is expressed at very low levels in skin, trachea, and other tissues. It is produced by activated keratinocytes and monocytes and transmits an intracellular signal through two distinct cell-surface receptor complexes on keratinocytes and other epithelial cells. Interleukin-20 has been shown to transduce its signal through signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) in keratinocytes. It regulates proliferation and differentiation of keratinocytes during inflammation, particularly inflammation associated with the skin. In addition, it also causes cell expansion of multipotential hematopoietic progenitor cells. A specific receptor for this cytokine is found to be expressed in skin and upregulated dramatically in psoriatic skin, suggesting a role for this protein in epidermal function and psoriasis.
