Molecular Mass	The recombinant human IDO2 comprises 413 amino acids and has a calculated molecular mass of 46.2 KDa. It migrates as an approximately 43 kDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
Formulation	Lyophilized from 0.2μm filtered solution of PBS, 20%glycerol; pH7.5. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose and mannitol are added as protectants before lyophilization. Specific concentrations are included in the hardcopy of COA.

Beschreibung von IDO2 Protein

IDO2 is a member of the indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase family. Indoleamine-2,3-Dioxygenase (IDO) is an immunosuppressive molecule inducible in various cells. IDO2 is a new variant of classic IDO (IDO1). It can be detected in liver, small intestine, spleen, placenta, thymus, lung, brain, kidney, and colon. IDO is a haem-containing enzyme of about 400 amino acids. Site-directed mutagenesis showed His346 to be essential for haem binding, indicating that this histidine residue may be the proximal ligand. The degradative action of IDO on tryptophan leads to cell death by starvation of this essential and relatively scarce amino acid. IDO2 may actually be the ancestor of the better characterized IDO1 gene, and that IDO1 might have been generated by gene duplication of IDO2 before the origin of tetrapods in mammalian evolutionary history. It catalyzes the first and rate-limiting step in the kynurenine pathway of tryptophan catabolism.
