Molecular Mass The recombinant human EPHA7 /GST chimera consists of 657 amino acids and has a calculated molecular mass of 75.2 kDa. The recombinant protein migrates as an approximately 76 kDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
Formulation Lyophilized from a 0.2μm filtered solution of 20mM Tris, 500mM NaCl, pH 8.0, 10% gly.

Beschreibung von EPHA7 / EHK3 Protein

Ephrin type-A receptor 7, also known as EPH homology kinase 3, EPH-like kinase 11, EPHA7 and EHK3, is a single-pass type I membrane protein which Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily, Tyr protein kinase family and Ephrin receptor subfamily. EPHA7 is widely expressed. It contains two fibronectin type-III domains, one protein kinase domain and one SAM (sterile alpha motif) domain. EPHA7 is a receptor for members of the ephrin-A family. It binds to ephrin-A1, ephrin-A2, ephrin-A3, ephrin-A4 and ephrin-A5. EPHA7 is a member of the EPHA family of receptor kinases, among which several members are known to be involved in human lung carcinogenesis. EPHA7 is expressed at a substantial level in most human lung cancers and the secreted form of EPHA7 mRNA was found in a fraction of primary lung cancer tissues, lung cancer cell lines, and immortalized bronchogenic epithelial cell lines. The high expression of EphA7 protein may play an important role in the malignancy transformation, invasion progression and metastasis of primary hepatocellular carcinoma. EPHA7 warrants further investigation to determine its possible involvement in smoking related lung carcinogenesis.
