Molecular Mass

The recombinant cynomolgus ACVR1B is a disulfide-linked homodimer. The reduced monomer comprises 341 amino acids and has a calculated molecular mass of 38.2 KDa.The apparent molecular mass of it is approximately 44 KDa respectively in SDS-PAGE.

Formulation Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH7.4.
  1. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose and mannitol are added as protectants before lyophilization. Specific concentrations are included in the hardcopy of COA.

Beschreibung von ACVR1B / ALK-4 Protein

Activin receptor type-IB, also known as Serine/threonine-protein kinase receptor R2, Activin receptor-like kinase 4, ALK-4, and ACVRIB, is a single-pass type I  membrane protein which belongs to the protein kinase superfamily and TGFB receptor subfamily. Activins are dimeric growth and differentiation factors which belong to the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta) superfamily of structurally related signaling proteins. Activins signal through a heteromeric complex of receptor serine kinases which include at least two type I  (I and IB) and two type I I (II and IIB) receptors. These receptors are all transmembrane proteins, composed of a ligand-binding extracellular domain with a cysteine-rich region, a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic domain with predicted serine/threonine specificity. ALK-4 is expressed in many tissues, most strongly in kidney, pancreas, brain, lung, and liver. ALK4 and ALK7 can mediate signal transduction by Nodal proteins, although ALK7 appears to be a receptor more specifically dedicated to Nodal signaling.
