Hintergrund von CD9 Antikörper

CD9 antigen, also known as 5H9 antigen, cell growth-inhibiting gene 2 protein, leukocyte antigen MIC3, motility-related protein, tetraspanin-29, CD9 and MIC3, is a multi-pass membrane protein which belongs to thetetraspanin (TM4SF) family. It is a cell surface marker expressed on myeloid and nonmyeloid as well as on neoplastic cells. CD9 forms both disulfide-linked homodimers and higher homooligomers as well as heterooligomers with other members of the tetraspanin family. Numerous functions have been attributed to CD9 and other members of the transmembrane 4 (TM4) superfamily. CD9 is thought to be involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, motility and survival. It may also function as part of toxin and virus receptor complexes. CD9 is involved in platelet activation and aggregation. It regulates paranodal junction formation and is involved in cell adhesion, cell motility and tumor metastasis. CD9 is required for sperm-egg fusion. CD9 associates with CR2/CD21 and with PTGFRN/CD9P1. It interacts directly with IGSF8.
