mCAR4-mouse-kidney immunohistochemistry    

Immunochemical staining of mouse CAR4 in mouse-kidney with rabbit polyclonal antibody (1 µg/mL, formalin-fixed paraffin embedded sections).  
Western blot This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Mouse Car4 in WB. Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for Mouse Car4 is approximately 2 ng/lane under non-reducing conditions and 4 ng/lane under reducing conditions.
Storage This antibody can be stored at 2℃-8℃ for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20℃ to -70℃. Preservative-Free.
Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Carbonic anhydrase 4, also known as Carbonic anhydrase IV, CAIV, and CA4, is a member of the alpha-carbonic anhydrase family. CA4 is a membrane-associated enzyme anchored to plasma membrane surfaces by a phosphatidylinositol glycan linkage. It is expressed on the luminal surfaces of pulmonary capillaries and of proximal renal tubules. Its exact function is not known, however, it may have a role in inherited renal abnormalities of bicarbonate transport. Similar to human CA4, the C-terminus of murine CA4 is surrounded by a substantial electropositive surface potential that may stabilize the interaction with the phospholipid membrane. Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. The genomic data suggests that there are thirteen enzymatically active members of the mammalian CA isozyme family. They participate in a variety of biological processes, including respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of aqueous humor, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and gastric acid. They show extensive diversity in tissue distribution and in their subcellular localization.
