Molecular Mass	The secreted recombinant mouse CAMK4/GST chimera consists of 706 amino acids and has a calculated molecular mass of 80.4 kDa. The recombinant protein migrates as an approximately 85 kDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
Formulation	Lyophilized from a 0.2μm filtered solution of 20mM Tris,500mM NaCl, pH 7.4, 10% gly. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose and mannitol are added as protectants before lyophilization. Specific concentrations are included in the hardcopy of COA.

Beschreibung von CAMK4 / CaMKIV Protein

Calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase type IV, also known as CaMK IV, CaM kinase-GR and CAMK4, is cytoplasm and nucleus protein which belongs to the protein kinase superfamily, CAMK Ser/Thr protein kinase family and CaMK subfamily. CAMK4 is expressed in epithelial ovarian cancer tissue. CAMK4 is a calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase belonging to a proposed calcium-triggered signaling cascade. CAMK4 is a multifunctional serine/threonine protein kinase with limited tissue distribution, it has been implicated in transcriptional regulation in lymphocytes, neurons and male germ cells. It may be involved in transcriptional regulation. CAMK4 may also be involved in regulation of microtubule dynamics. CAMK4 phosphorylates CREB1, CREBBP, PRM2, MEF2A, MEF2D and STMN1/OP18. It may play a role in the consolidation/retention of hippocampus-dependent long-term memory. CAMK4 is activated by Ca2+/calmodulin. Binding of calmodulin may releave intrasteric autoinhibition. It is phosphorylated by CAMKK1 or CAMKK2. CAMK4 interacts with serine/threonine protein phosphatase 2A catalytic subunit, PPP2CA or PPP2CB. The interaction with PP2CA or PP2CB is mutually exclusive with binding to Ca2+/calmodulin.
