Specificity	Mouse CES2 / Carboxylesterase 2
Western blot	This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Mouse CES2 in WB. Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for Mouse CES2 is approximately 0.5 ng/lane under non-reducing conditions and under reducing conditions.
Direct ELISA	This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Mouse CES2. The detection limit for Mouse CES2 is approximately 0.00245 ng/well.
Storage	This antibody can be stored at 2℃-8℃ for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20℃ to -70℃. Preservative-Free. Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Carboxylesterases hydrolyze esters of short-chain fatty acids and have roles in animals ranging from signal transduction to xenobiotic detoxification. In enzymology, a carboxylesterase is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction: a carboxylic ester + pO = an alcohol + a carboxylate. Most enzymes from this group belong to the superfamily of hydrolases with alpha/beta protein fold (so called Alpha/beta hydrolase fold), specifically those acting on carboxylic ester bonds. The carboxylesterase family of evolutionarily related proteins (those with clear sequence homology to each other) includes a number of proteins with different substrate specificities, such as acetylcholinesterases. Mouse carboxylesterase 2, also known as CES2, is a endoplasmic reticulum lumen protein which belongs to thetype-B carboxylesterase / lipase family. CES2 is preferentially expressed in intestine with moderate expression in liver. Within the intestine, highest expression of CES2 is found in small intestine with lower expression in colon and rectum. CES2 is involved in the detoxification of xenobiotics and in the activation of ester and amide prodrugs. CES2 shows high catalytic efficiency for hydrolysis of 4-methyumbelliferyl acetate, heroin and 6-monoacetylmorphine.
