Molecular Mass	The recombinant human AREG consisting of 99 amino acids and has a predicted molecular mass of 11.4 kDa. It migrates as an approximately 17KDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
Formulation	Lyophilized from 0.2μm filtered solution of PBS, pH7.5. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose and mannitol are added as protectants before lyophilization. Specific concentrations are included in the hardcopy of COA.

Beschreibung von Amphiregulin Protein

Amphiregulin, also known as colorectum cell-derived growth factor, CRDGF, SDGF and AREG, is a single-pass membrane protein which belongs to the amphiregulin family. Amphiregulin ( AREG / SDGF ) is essential for epithelial development in various organs. It contains one EGF-like domain. Amphiregulin ( AREG / SDGF ) is an autocrine growth factor as well as a mitogen for astrocytes, Schwann cells, and fibroblasts. It is related to epidermal growth factor (EGF) and transforming growth factor alpha (TGF-alpha). AREG / SDGF is a bifunctional growth-modulating glycoprotein. It inhibits growth of several human carcinoma cells in culture and stimulates proliferation of human fibroblasts and certain other tumor cells. Amphiregulin ( AREG / SDGF ) protein interacts with the EGF/TGF-alpha receptor to promote the growth of normal epithelial cells and inhibits the growth of certain aggressive carcinoma cell lines. It is associated with a psoriasis-like skin phenotype. Amphiregulin ( AREG / SDGF ) treatment enhanced the activation of Akt and Erk in lung epithelial cells. Amphiregulin may play a protective role in bleomycin-induced pneumopathy, probably through the activation of survival signals. Administration of amphiregulin may be a novel therapeutic strategy against lung injury and fibrosis.
