Acylphosphatase-1, also known as Acylphosphatase, erythrocyte isozyme, Acylphosphatase, organ-common type isozyme, Acylphosphate phosphohydrolase 1 and ACYP1, is protein which belongs to the acylphosphatase family. Acylphosphatase-1 / ACYP1 contains one acylphosphatase-like domain. Acylphosphatase is a small cytosolic enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of the carboxyl-phosphate bond of acylphosphates. Two isoenzymes have been isolated, called muscle acylphosphatase and erythrocyte acylphosphatase, on the basis of their tissue localization. The physiological role of acylphosphatase-1 / aCYP1 is not yet clear.
