Specificity	Human YKL-39 / CHI3L2
Western blot	This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Human CHI3L2 in WB. Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for Human CHI3L2 is approximately 1 ng/lane under non-reducing conditions and reducing conditions.
Direct ELISA	This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Human CHI3L2. The detection limit for Human CHI3L2 is approximately 0.00975 ng/well.
Storage	This antibody can be stored at 2℃-8℃ for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20℃ to -70℃. Preservative-Free. Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Chitinase-3-like protein 2, also known as Chondrocyte protein 39, YKL-39 and CHI3L2, is a secreted protein which Belongs to theglycosyl hydrolase 18 family. Human cartilage chitinase 3-like protein 2 (CHI3L2, YKL-39) is secreted by articular chondrocytes, synoviocytes, lung, and heart. Highest expression of CHI3L2 / YKL-39 is in chondrocytes, followed by synoviocytes, lung and heart. It is not detected in spleen, pancreas, and liver. CHI3L2 may also be expressed in developing brain and placenta. Increased levels of CHI3L2 have been demonstrated in synovial fluids of patients with rheumatoid or osteoarthritis as well as in some other pathologies and in malignant tumors, particularly in glioblastomas. CHI3L2 / YKL-39 belongs to glycosyl hydrolase family 18 and the most closely related to human cartilage glycoprotein 39 (HC gp-39 or chitinase 3-like protein 1, CHI3L1 or YKL-40), which promotes the growth of human synovial cells as well as skin and fetal lung fibroblasts. CHI3L1 / YKL-40 is involved in phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1 and 2 (ERK1 / ERK2). CHI3L1 / YKL-40 initiates a signaling cascade which leads to increased cell proliferation, suggesting that this protein could play some role in the inhibition of apoptosis. CHI3L2 / YKL-39, which as CHI3L1 / YKL-40 has significantly increased expression in glioblastomas, also activates signal-regulated kinases ERK1 / ERK2 in human embryonic kidney and human glioblastoma (U87 MG) cells. CHI3L2 / YKL-39 may bind glycan structure with high affinity, but not heparin. It has no chitotriosidase activity.
