Molecular Mass	The recombinant mouse BDNF consists of 249 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 28.1 KDa. It migrates as an approximately 13 KDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
Formulation	Lyophilized from a 0.2μm filtered solution of PBS. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose and mannitol are added as protectants before lyophilization. Specific concentrations are included in the hardcopy of COA.

Storage	Store it under sterile conditions at -70℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Beschreibung von BDNF Protein

BDNF belongs to the nerve growth factor family. It is induced by cortical neurons, and is highly expressed in hippocampus, amygdala, cerebral cortex and cerebellum. It also can be detected in heart, lung, skeletal muscle, testis, prostate and placenta. During development, BDNF promotes the survival and differentiation of selected neuronal populations of the peripheral and central nervous systems. It participates in axonal growth, pathfinding and in the modulation of dendritic growth and morphology. It functions as the major regulator of synaptic transmission and plasticity at adult synapses in many regions of the CNS. Defects in BDNF are a cause of congenital central hypoventilation syndrome (CCHS), also known as congenital failure of autonomic control or Ondine curse. CCHS is a rare disorder characterized by abnormal control of respiration in the absence of neuromuscular or lung disease, or an identifiable brain stem lesion.
