Specificity	Human MICA
Western blot	This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Human MICA in WB. Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for Human MICA is approximately 0.5 ng/lane under non-reducing conditions and 2 ng/lane under reducing conditions.
Direct ELISA	This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Human MICA. The detection limit for Human MICA is approximately 0.00245 ng/well.
Storage	This antibody can be stored at 2℃-8℃ for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20℃ to -70℃. Preservative-Free. Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Major histocompatibility complex class I-related chain A (MICA) belongs to the MHC class I family, MIC subfamily. Unlike classical MHC class I molecules, MICA does not form a heterodimer with beta-2-microglobulin. MICA acts as a stress-induced self-antigen that is recognized by NK cells, NKT cells, and most of the subtypes of T cells. As a Ligand for the KLRK1/NKG2D receptor, MICA binds to KLRK1 leads to cell lysis. MICA antigens are able to elicit the synthesis of alloantibodies in transplant recipients. These antibodies have been found in association with irreversible allograft rejection, an increased frequency of acute rejection episodes, and a significantly lower deceased donor graft survival, as well as in the eluates from rejected grafts. MICA antigen has been recognized as an important non-HLA target in renal transplantation. Recent studies have shown that anti-MICA antibodies are associated with acute renal allograft rejection and failure. MICA functions as an antigen for gammadelta T cells and is frequently expressed in epithelial tumors. Engagement of NKG2D activated cytolytic responses of gammadelta T cells and NK cells against transfectants and epithelial tumor cells expressing MICA.
