| Immunogen | Recombinant Human BACE1 / ASP2 protein (Catalog#10064-HCCH) |
| Reagents | FITC-conjugated rabbit monoclonal antibody |
| Clone ID | 027 |
| Ig Type | Rabbit IgG |
| Concentration | 5 μl/Test, 0.2 mg/ml |
| Formulation | Aqueous solution containing 0.5% BSA and 0.1% sodium azide |
| Preparation | This antibody was obtained from a rabbit immunized with purified, recombinant Human BACE1 / ASP2 (rh BACE1 / ASP2; Catalog#10064-HCCH; NP_036236.1; Met 1-Thr 457) and conjugated with FITC under optimum conditions, the unreacted FITC was removed. |
| Specificity | Human BACE1 / ASP2 |
| Has cross-reactivity in ELISA with Mouse BACE1 Human ADAM15 | |
| Flow Cytometry | Flow cytometric analysis of Human BACE1 expression in Jurkat cells. The cells were treated according to manufacturer’s manual (BD Pharmingen™ Cat. No. 554714), and then stained with FITC Rabbit anti-BACE1 (10064-R027-F). The fluorescence histograms were derived from gated events with the forward and side light-scatter characteristics of intact cells. Flow cytometry was performed on a BD FACSCalibur flow cytometry systemPlease refer to www.sinobiological.com/Flow-Cytometry-FACS-Protocols-a-750.html for technical protocols. |
| Storage | This antibody is stable for 12 months from date of receipt when stored at 2℃-8℃. Protected from prolonged exposure to light. Do not freeze ! Sodium azide is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Flush with large volumes of water during disposal. |

As a member of the peptidase A1 protein family, BACE1 is a type I integral membrane glycoprotein and aspartic protease that is found mainly in the Golgi. This protease is responsible for the proteolytic processing of the amyloid precursor protein (APP). APP is cleaved to generate a 40 or 42 amino acid-long amyloid-β peptide, which is the major constituent of amyloid plaques in the brains of individuals afflicted with Alzheimers disease (AD), and accordingly, BACE1 is implicated in the onset and progression of AD. The elevation of BACE1 levels can be induced by amyloid plaques surrounding neurons at early stages of pathology before neuron death occurs, and may drive a positive-feedback loop in AD. Different isoforms are derived from four transcript variants.
